Under his watchful eye, the Mt. SAC Relays and Cross Country Invitational grew to be the largest invitational events in the world. The events' reputation as 'athletes first' meets eventually caught the attention of athletes from other countries, marking the Mt. SAC Relays as a truly significant international competition and the Cross Country Invitational as one meet that cannot be missed.
